Kamias fruits on tree

Kamias grows in clusters on trees. It’s been called “tree cucumber” in English.

The fruit is used as a souring agent in the Filipino dishes paksiw and sinigang.

Kamias is also dried and candied.

Sinigang na Manok sa Kamyas

Hiwain ang manok nang may katatagang laki at hugasang malinis. Sangkutsahin sa kaunting tubig na may bungang kamyas. Lagyan ng asin at kaunting mantika.

Makaraan ang may sampung minuto, sabawan ng hugas-bigas. Bayaang kuluan at maluto.
