Thanksgiving greetings are not common in the Philippines because the North American version of Thanksgiving does not have roots in Asia. Most Filipinos simply tell their American friends “Happy Thanksgiving” in English.
Did you know that in Canada, Thanksgiving Day is celebrated on the second Monday in October? In 2023, the date is on October 9th.
UPDATE: In the year 2009, Philippine president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo declared that October of every year would be celebrated as National Indigenous People’s Month. In 2003, she declared that October 29 would be National Indigenous People’s Day.
