Here are  the 23 consonants in the modern Filipino alphabet:

 

Bb, Cc, Dd, Ff, Gg, Hh, Jj, Kk, Ll, Mm, Nn, Ññ,

NGng, Pp, Qq, Rr, Ss, Tt, Vv, Ww, Xx, Yy at Zz

 

 

Here are the  15 consonants in the basic Tagalog abakada:

Bb, Kk, Dd, Gg, Hh, Ll, Mm,  Nn,

Filipinos rely on only 5 vowels: 
 
A a, E e, I i, O o, U u
 

 
 
The abakada developed in the 1930s by Lope K. Santos had only 20 letters.


The modern official Filipino alphabet has 28 letters (that would be the 26 letters of the English alphabet plus ñ and ng).
