Public Non-Working Holidays in the Philippines
This is a list of Filipino national holidays observed throughout the Philippines. These are non-working holidays, meaning offices are closed and no government business is conducted.
Aside from these, additional dates are declared non-working holidays by special presidential proclamation. For example: January 2, 2009, is an official non-working holiday. For the holidays with movable dates below, the president issues a proclamation six months ahead as to which specific date the holiday will be observed.
(February 23, 2009, has been declared a holiday only for students to commemorate the 23rd anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution; it is a regular working day for everyone else.)
