Maruyang saba uses the saba variety of banana that is commonly used in cooking.


RECIPE FOR MARUYANG SAGING


Mix the following to make the batter:

1 cup flour, sifted
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp sugar
4 tbsp milk
1/3 cup water
pinch of salt


DIRECTIONS:

Peel ripe bananas and slice each lengthwise into four pieces.
Dip in the batter, then roll lightly in some flour. 
Deep fry in cooking oil.
Serve with a dusting of brown sugar.
