Karen Read’s defense team presented a dog-bite expert witness who testified that the injuries on her boyfriend John O’Keefe’s right arm were “consistent with a large dog attack.” The expert, retired emergency room physician Dr. Marie Russell, said the injuries included parallel cuts and smaller, round “punctate” wounds that could have been caused by the upper and lower teeth of a dog.
