Aligi refers to the eggs of the female alimango crab. It is often referred to as taba (fat).
The Tagalog for 'egg' is itlog but that word is usually reserved for bird eggs.
* The unfertilized eggs of a lobster is called "coral" and that is why aligi is sometimes translated as crab coral.
