TAGALOG TRANSLATION Siya’y isang punong dinidilig ng ilog ng Karilagan, may Bungang asam ng pusong gutom; Siya’y isang ruisinyor, inaaliw sa magaganda n’yang awit Diwang tigib ng hapis; . . . Siya’y isang maningning na ilawan, di-madaig ng karimlan At di-mapatay ng hangin. Sinidlan ng Langis ni Ishtar ng Pagsinta, at sinindihan ni Apolo ng Musika. |

Lebanese writer and artist Kahlil Gibran (1883-1931) influenced modern Arabic literature and composed inspirational pieces in English, including The Prophet.
Si Aniceto F. Silvestre ay nagkamit ng Unang Gantimpala sa Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature noong taong 1969.
