Actors of Filipino Descent

Considering the history of the Philippines, any Filipino can claim Chinese, Hispanic and/or Spanish ancestry while technically not be lying.


Here are a few actors active in Hollywood, Broadway and/or the international entertainment industry who are part-Filipino or of Filipino heritage:


Rob Schneider is a Hollywood actor of dual heritage − his father is Jewish and his mother Pilar is Filipina.



Paolo Montalban is a Filipino American who was born in Manila. His family moved stateside when he was still a baby and he grew up in New York and New Jersey. In addition to numerous theater performances, he has also appeared as Kung Lao in the TV show Mortal Kombat: Conquest (1998).



Ernie Reyes Jr. was famous in the 80s for his role as Ernie Lee on the TV show Sidekicks. He started learning martial arts under his father at the age of four, and the training is still helping him land roles in TV shows and movies. He was born in 1972 in San Jose, California.



Dante Basco is a Filipino American actor who was born in California. He has guested on quite a lot of TV shows including Nash Bridges, Providence and The Prince of Bel-Air. He has also appeared in numerous Hollywood films, but most recently in the groundbreaking Filipino-American movie The Debut.
